If you only have 24 short hours in the fabulous city of\u00a0Seattle, here’s my best recommendations for fun activities to make the most of\u00a0the Emerald City, whether it rains or not.<\/p>\n

It might be a very touristy thing to do, but there is a reason\u00a0that millions flock to the bustling Pike Place Market each year. Start your\u00a0early morning here when the local organic produce vendors are just beginning to\u00a0set out their daily goods. As you walk the stalls, be sure to sample some of \u00a0the tasty fruits and vegetables you pass- most vendors are happy to offer a
\nbite. In addition to the produce area, be sure to walk past the world-famous\u00a0“flying fish,” watch the cheese making process at Beechers,\u00a0and grab a morning cup of joe at the first Starbucks. If the lines deter you,\u00a0there are plenty of Pike Place Eateries boasting fabulous morning treats\u00a0including great cups of coffee, fine artisan pastries, and much more.<\/p>\n

\nFrom Pike Place, take a short walk to the bay and hop aboard\u00a0one of two modes of transportation: a bay cruise to give you a scenic overview\u00a0of the area and history of Seattle (Argosy Cruises offers a fun tour), or take\u00a0to the heights from the top of the 175-foot Seattle Great Wheel. Kids and kids\u00a0at heart can’t resist the old-fashioned thrill of a ferris wheel, and this new
\nSeattle attraction is quickly becoming an iconic Seattle treat.<\/p>\n

After you’ve taken a look at the bay, stop in for a bite to\u00a0eat at one of the bay’s local fish restaurants. From fish and chips to fresh\u00a0salmon, shrimp, and more, there are numerous restaurants that are sure to offer\u00a0your favorite.<\/p>\n

Spend your afternoon exploring Seattle Center. This hub for\u00a0technology, arts, and entertainment is home not only to world-class museums, a\u00a0surprisingly local food court, local theaters, and plenty of grounds for\u00a0exploration, it is also home to the iconic Space Needle,\u00a0which you simply must enjoy during your visit to Seattle. Pick one or two of\u00a0the museums to visit based on your interest. Love knowing how things work? A\u00a0visit to the Pacific Science Center is definitely in order. Are you a SciFi
\nnerd or music aficionado? Stop by the impressive EMP Museum for\u00a0hands on fun in both genres. Got the kids in tow? Explore the Seattle\u00a0Children’s Museum. Inspired by art? Be sure to stop by the Chihuly Garden and\u00a0Glass Exhibit.<\/p>\n

After exploring Seattle Center, head to ART\u00a0by the Four Seasons for a fantastic, fresh, gourmet meal with great views
\noverlooking Elliot Bay. Stay the night on site or head a few blocks up to the\u00a0Fairmont Olympic\u00a0for a quality night of sleep before ending your short tour. Both hotels boast\u00a0charming lobby’s full of late night drinks and entertainment should you want to\u00a0maximize your time in Seattle.<\/p>\n
