\nHoliday travel plans for nearly one million passengers using British Airways are now in disarray as BA’s cabin crew overwhelmingly voted in favor of a strike that will begin on December 22.\n<\/p>\n

\nThe strike follows a long dispute between Britain’s number one carrier and their unions, after British Airways cut costs in order to survive the economic crisis that has seen a major decrease in passenger numbers.\n<\/p>\n
\n
\nLen McCluskey said that the union was upset that it has come down to this strike and was still interested in talking with British Airways in order to avoid a disruption during one of the busiest travel weeks of the year.\n<\/p>\n
\n
\nThe British Airlines Stewards and Stewardesses Association, a section of Unite, echoed those sentiments in a statement.\n<\/p>\n
\n \n<\/p>\n
\nMore than 12,500 BA employees, balloted by trade union Unite in November, voted by an overwhelming 92.5 percent to walk out starting December 22 for 12 consecutive days.\n<\/p>\n
