Moshulu, whose namesake is a Seneca Indian tribal word meaning \u201cfearless,” battled the precarious ocean for almost 90 years before it came to rest on the Delaware River.<\/div>\n

The vessel is the world\u2019s largest four-mast sailing ship still afloat, and was recently deemed the \u2018world\u2019s toughest restaurant.’<\/div>\n

That\u2019s because Moshulu has survived 54 perilous passages around the horn of South America, carried supplies to Central American copper mines, lumber to Australia, grain to Europe and petroleum to Mexico.<\/div>\n

It was even confiscated twice, during both World Wars, and featured in “Rocky” and \u201cThe Godfather II.\u201d<\/div>\n

But now, far from its formidable past, \u201cthis lovingly restored, historic ship\u2026is an upscale restaurant that offers diners a chance to eat like a king and wander the decks like a ship captain,\u201d says Donna Schorr of the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation.<\/div>\n
