Plenty to see and do in Louisville after the annual derby<\/strong><\/div>\n

With the Kentucky Derby over, so too is Louisville’s annual weekend as one of the world’s hottest travel destinations. But as The New York Times<\/em><\/a>, National Geographic Traveller<\/em><\/a> and The Wall Street Journal<\/em><\/a> have recently reported, there’s plenty to do in Louisville beyond watch the fastest two minutes in sports.<\/p>\n

Here’s a look at events in Louisville that don’t get the media attention the Run for the Roses does, but still can add a sprig of mint to a May visit.<\/p>\n

Krazy Fest:<\/strong>
\nAfter an eight-year hiatus, Krazy Fest<\/a>, is returning to Louisville’s Expo 5 May 20\u201322. The punk festival’s lineup features acts like Against Me!, Anti-Flag, and Lucero playing on three stages.<\/p>\n

Senior PGA Championships:<\/strong>
\nLouisville’s hosts the 72nd Senior PGA Championship <\/a>May 26-29. Previously the Jack Nicklaus designed course has been the site of the PGA Championship (1996 and 2000) and the Ryder Cup (2008).<\/p>\n

Abbey Road on the River:<\/strong>
\nHeld annually on Memorial Day weekend, Abbey Road on the River<\/a> is the world’s largest Beatles-inspired festival. More than 65 bands from around the world will play on 11 stages over the five-day event held on the shore of the Ohio River. The centerpiece of Abbey Road on the River, now in its 10th year, is likely to be the 90-minute ensemble performance of The Love Album<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
