Florida’s “Space Coast” is still as vibrant as ever, with plenty to offer visitors. Not only do you have 72 miles of untamed beaches that are quite close (around 35 miles east) to Orlando, there is more for visitors to do than meets the eye. Here’s why booking a cheap flight<\/a> there this summer makes sense:<\/p>\n

Kennedy Space Center:<\/strong> This nationally known landmark gave visitors a chance to witness 135 space shuttle launches, but the reason to visit the Center still exists. If you’re a space junkie, you’ll appreciate the Rocket Garden (displaying NASA’s early space crafts) to the Apollo\/Saturn V Center, which has the equipment from the Apollo missions to the moon. You can enjoy documentaries on two IMAX theaters, and also meet veteran astronauts from NASA\u2019s Astronaut Corps. In 2013, visitors can see the retired Atlantis shuttle on permanent display.

\nCanaveral National Seashore:<\/strong> This is one of the last of the undeveloped beaches on the East Coast; hence, no commercialism and a relatively tranquil ocean view experience. The best part about this area may well be the docking of the Disney Cruise Line, Carnival Cruise Lines, Norwegian Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. It is considered one of the busiest ports in the world.<\/p>\n

Restaurants:<\/strong> There are also plenty of seafood restaurants in the area for fans, from Rusty\u2019s Seafood and Oyster Bar, Grill\u2019s Seafood Deck & Tiki Bar, Milliken\u2019s Reef and Baja Tavern and Eats.<\/p>\n

Beaches:<\/strong> I have loved strolling on the sands of Cocoa Beach which is recognized as the East Coast surfing capital of the US. Credit that to the steady, warm waves! Visitors should check out the famous Ron Jon Surf Shop and Cocoa Beach Surf Co., the world\u2019s largest surfing complex.<\/p>\n

Weather:<\/strong> There cannot be a better reason to visit the Space Coast apart from its perfect year-round weather. If you’re into kayaking, surfing, swimming…or any outdoor sports, you know you’re in good hands at the Space Coast. And hurricane season is also not even close, so you have plenty of juicy, summer weeks to get the maximum mileage from your visit to the Space Coast.<\/p>\n
