\nSpirit pilots agree on new contract<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n A new contract has been approved by pilots of low-cost carrier Spirit <\/p>\n Under the new five year deal, the pilots will receive a \u201csubstantial\u201d pay <\/p>\n An overwhelming 96 percent of qualified Spirit pilots voted on the offer, <\/p>\n Spirit pilots had been working on a new deal since October 2006 and finally walked <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n
\nAirlines according to a union representative Friday. This past June the pilots
\nwent on strike for almost a week, grounding hundreds of Spirit flights<\/a> and
\nmaking travel a complete nightmare for thousands of passengers.<\/p>\n
\nraise, with captains receiving a 10 percent increase and first officers
\nreceiving an 18 percent increase. What\u2019s more, the entire pilot group will be given
\na signing bonus.<\/p>\n
