\nparticularly for food items. So, when I tell you that Sea Baron has the
\nbest lobster soup in the world, it\u2019s really much greater than that.<\/p>\n

\nit\u2019s true.<\/p>\n

\nIceland, the Sea Baron is famous, inexpensive and tasty \u2013 a triple
\nthreat! The restaurant, which isn\u2019t far from Burgerjoint, is probably
\nthe city\u2019s top food attraction. Refreshingly, the notoriety has come
\nfrom the fact that Sea Baron delivers an incredible taste and an amazing
\nexperience. Unwarranted hype is noticeably absent. In fact, any sort of
\nhype is. Sea Baron just delivers fantastic food at an affordable price
\n(a rarity in Reykjavik). So, extend the savings from your cheap
\nflights to Reykjavik<\/a><\/strong> into the dining experience, and you\u2019ll be
\nable to enjoy more!<\/p>\n
\nfind the sign for Sea Baron, visible from the street, just ahead of that
\nfor Burgerjoint. Inside, you order at the counter and then take a seat
\nat one of the long tables (it\u2019s all communal here). There\u2019s free water
\nin the nearby refrigerated case, if you don\u2019t feel like drinking
\nIcelandic beer while your food is being prepared.<\/p>\n
\nit\u2019s a relaxing experience \u2026 until you take that first bite of lobster
\nsoup. There\u2019s nothing like it.<\/p>\n
\nKjartan Halld\u00f3rsson, the Sea Baron himself<\/a>,
\nstarted as a fisherman, who later became a chef for the Coast Guard.
\nFrom there, he opened a fish shop right on the dock, ultimately taking
\nhis fresh goods into a restaurant. This last step came when some foreign
\ntourists asked then fishmonger Halld\u00f3rsson to cook the fish for him.
\nThe rest is history.<\/p>\n
\nreally is the best I\u2019ve ever tasted. It\u2019s just creamy enough to offer
\nthe thick consistency necessary to complement the lobster, but without
\ntasting like a full bisque (which can overpower the other ingredients).
\nThe soup is served in a large mug with a spoon, and it can be quite
\nfilling (even for me, and I have a substantial appetite).<\/p>\n
\nheaded to Sea Baron for lunch, a great approach is to have the soup and
\nshare an order of the whale with someone. It\u2019s just the right amount,
\nand it will be among your most affordable meals in Iceland (with the
\nexception of the burgers and hot dogs<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n
