There\u2019s nothing like lounging on the beach during a tropical vacation, but even though Fiji is one of the most beautiful places you\u2019re likely to go to, there\u2019s more to it than just sitting in a beach chair all day (not that there is anything wrong with that). Here are some ideas to get you out of your seat and ready to enter our Crazy in Love with CheapOair<\/a> competition.<\/p>\n

Take a Cruise<\/h1>\n

You may not be staying in the Mamanuca islands \u2013 they\u2019re home to some of the more expensive resorts \u2013 but that doesn\u2019t mean you can\u2019t visit them \u2013 just take a cruise from Nadi. Full day tours zip around the blue lagoons, deserted beaches and give you time to snorkel the coral reefs as well.<\/p>\n

Hit Up a Hot Air Balloon<\/h1>\n

Hot air ballooning? In Fiji? Correct \u2013 and unsurprisingly it\u2019s the only place you can do it in the South Pacific. An hour-long dawn flight lets you see the sunrise over the hills of Nadi and float over the main island, Viti Levu (you\u2019ll be over land, not water). Then you\u2019ll be back at your hotel in time for breakfast.<\/p>\n

Go Diving<\/h1>\n

Fiji\u2019s nickname is the \u201csoft coral capital of the world\u201d and there are spectacular dive sights around the Mamanuca islands. If it\u2019s new to you, you can take a PADI course while you\u2019re out there \u2013 and if that\u2019s not an option, you can always snorkel.<\/p>\n

Have a Massage<\/h1>\n

Try a traditional Fijian massage \u2013 either a Bobo massage, using nut oils and traditional Fijian strokes, or a four-handed Duavata massage. To make it even more spectacular, choose a spa that will carry out the treatment outside.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not as shallow as it sounds \u2013 there\u2019s plenty of traditional stuff to buy here, such as hand-woven baskets, pottery, jewelry, and cotton and silk. Fancy a souvenir?
