Oakland International Airport Approved for Flights to Cuba

JetBlue in Talks to Become Airline for Cuba Flights

It was announced Thursday that Oakland International Airport (OAK) has been approved for nonstop flights to Havana, Cuba.


The Oakland airport will be servicing weekly charter flights as soon as December of this year.


It becomes the eight airport in the U.S. to be able to make flights to the nation.


According to the report by SFGate.com, airlines such as JetBlue and Spirit are said to be in the running to make the flights between Cuba and the U.S.


Trips to Cuba are still only for academic and religious travel purposes.
