René Redzepi, head chef of Noma in Copenhagen, has announced plans to unveil “A Taste of Noma at Claridge’s” as he joins forces with London's landmark Claridge's hotel this summer to mark the celebrations of the London Olympics 2012.

Three times voted best restaurant in the world at the ‘World's 50 Best Restaurant Awards’ (2010, 2011 and just again last month!) and recently named one of TIME magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in the World,” Redzepi has sparked a cultural revolution with his focus on foraging and the reinterpretation of Nordic cuisine.

For 10 days only, the Danish chef will create a five-course menu at Claridge’s which will reflect his signature flavours and dishes from Noma, using local, seasonal British ingredients.

Says Redzepi of his upcoming UK foray:

We are excited about the opportunity to be part of the celebration of the Olympic Games in London and to work closely with the team at Claridge’s. It is a different set up from our home field, but we look forward to exploring the bounty of a different part of the world.

Claridge's General Manager Thomas Kochs is equally keen about teaming up with Redzepi:

“A Taste of Noma at Claridge’s” will be available for both lunch and dinner in Claridge’s Ballroom from July 28 to August 6, 2012. René Redzepi will be in attendance every day together with his team of chefs from Noma.
