Black Friday isn’t exactly everyone’s favorite day of the
year. Although many may save hundreds of dollars by waking up at 4 a.m. to go
grocery shopping, it often results in low patience, anger and added gray hairs.


So if you’re one of those that wants to spend the day after Thanksgiving away
from the long lines, consider these five alternative activities on Black

Let’s be honest, who sticks to their diet on Thanksgiving? As such,
get out and do something more active then stand in lines. For many places
around the U.S., it’s still pleasant outdoors, offering one last chance to
enjoy the outdoors before winter hits.

Go see a
Beating the crowds on Black Friday might be a challenge by going to see
a movie, but would you rather wait a few minutes to see your favorite movie or
much longer throughout the day at the shopping mall. Plus, the end of the year
typically produces some of the best flicks.

Shopping online is bigger than ever, so why not? The best thing about
it is there aren’t any lines. Put on some football and visit all your favorite
stores in mere minutes from the comfort of your sofa.

Put up
holiday decorations:
While many people put off their holiday decorations to
shop or pick them up on Black Friday, you can get a head start by putting them
up on the day after Thanksgiving. This will keep you from having to experience
any traffic and let you enjoy the rest of your Thanksgiving weekend.

Travel: While everyone is going into the city, why not go out of the city
for a long weekend retreat. Black Friday also often means long lines and waits
at restaurants and other businesses, making it the perfect time to get out of
town. Many places also offer special promotions and travel deals for Thanksgiving
