Amtrak Adds Wi-Fi Service to the Rails CheapOair Staff March 2, 2010 general Amtrak to now offer customer's internet service onboard Wi-fi has officially come to the rails in the U.S. with Amtrak's Acela Express service now offering internet access. Installed on all 20 of their Acela trains, which run between Boston and Washington DC, passengers will be able to use the service now for free, but might start charging in the future. If you're waiting to ride the rails at Washington Union Station, Baltimore Penn Station, Philadelphia 30th Street Station, New York Penn Station, Providence Station and Route 128 Station in Boston, you will also be able to surf the internet now as well since Amtrak installed wi-fi at Acela stations.
