WK Travel, Inc., as third-party service provider, has agreed to make available Cancel for Any Reason benefits (“CFAR”) for certain purchases of airline tickets through the CheapOair website, mobile web page and mobile application (the “Site”). CFAR, if offered, as an optional product that enables you to cancel the flight purchased through the Site within a defined period of time for any reason and receive a refund of 80% of the flight fare, as outlined below. CFAR is an option offered by CheapOair in connection with certain airline bookings purchased by you through the Site.
CFAR is not an insurance product. Customers who purchase Travel Protection in connection with their flight should read the applicable terms and conditions of the Travel Protection provider. Conditions and limitations may apply.
CFAR operates under the terms and conditions set forth below (the “CFAR Terms”), as well as CheapOair’s and the applicable airline’s general terms and conditions. By purchasing CFAR, you agree to the CFAR Terms, CheapOair’s general terms and conditions as well as applicable airline policies, including privacy policies.
1. How it works.
If you have purchased CFAR through the Site, you may cancel that booking through CheapOair’s call center or online self-service tool no later than 24 hours prior to departure of the first leg of a full itinerary and receive a refund, as provided in the below paragraphs. You will not need any documentation or reason to cancel. After the timeframe specified below has passed, your CFAR option will expire and any changes or cancellations to your booking will be subject to the fare rules imposed by the airline.
CFAR can only be purchased for bookings that are made at least 48 hours prior to departure.
If your itinerary has been modified at your request, CFAR will apply only to the original amount of the original flight fare.
2. Cancel For Any Reason Purchase and Exercise.
The fee to purchase CFAR is a service fee payable to CheapOair (“CFAR Fee”). Note that CFAR must be purchased in conjunction with the purchase of an airline ticket through CheapOair using a credit card or other payment method. Vouchers and reservation credits are not accepted when attempting to purchase CFAR.
The cost of CFAR is non-refundable, even if you cancel your flight within the first 24 hours following booking.
CFAR benefits are not transferable and cannot be carried over to any future bookings.
Promo codes may not be applied toward the purchase of CFAR.
If an itinerary includes multiple flight legs, all trip legs must be cancelled no later than 24 hours prior to departure of the first outgoing leg of the itinerary; CFAR does not apply on partially flown itineraries.
- Form and Amount of Refund. If you make a valid request for a refund within the timeframe specified herein, you will receive 80% of the flight fare (including any booking fee) refunded to the original form of payment. The cost of paid seat selection, baggage charges, meals, and other ancillaries and add-on purchases are not refundable under CFAR.
- Getting Refunded. You must request cancellation and refund using CheapOair’s call center or online self-service tool no later than 24 hours prior to departure of the first outgoing leg of any full itinerary.
If an itinerary includes multiple flight legs, all trip legs must be cancelled no later than 24 hours prior to departure of the first outgoing leg of the itinerary; CFAR does not apply on partially flown itineraries.
A refund will be initiated within 1-2 business days after the request is received.
3. Exclusions.
If the airline cancels the flight before the customer has canceled, then the customer will be refunded under applicable airline policies. CFAR does not apply in the event of flight cancellation by the airline, including cancellations by the airline due to extraordinary circumstances such as pandemic, epidemic, lockdown, airline bankruptcy, or other acts of God or government. The cost of CFAR is non-refundable, even if you cancel your flight within the first 24 hours following booking.
CFAR is only applicable to voluntary cancellations initiated by the customers directly with CheapOair. Call our call center or login to your CheapOair account, go to My Trips, initiate your cancellation, and refund process.
CFAR becomes null and void – no refunds will be made – if the customer cancels or exchanges their tickets directly with the airline.
4. Other Restrictions.
- CFAR may only be purchased at the time of booking and only for those bookings that are made at least 48 hours prior to departure. In certain situations, however, we may offer you the chance to purchase CFAR for a limited time following making your booking.
- CFAR must be purchased for all customers on the booking, and for all segments or legs of such booking. Exercising CFAR for any flight in the booking will result in a cancellation of all purchased flights for all legs or segments (i.e., outbound and return flights). If there is more than one customer on the booking, the Guest who made the booking shall determine how to exercise CFAR which shall apply to other Guest(s) included on the travel itinerary.
- If you split your booking into two bookings, your CFAR option will terminate and the right to exercise CFAR will be forfeited.
- If you make a voluntary change to your departure date, and the exclusions described in Section 3 do not apply, you can still cancel your trip for any reason, but your right to use CFAR will expire at the earlier of (1) the original cancellation deadline or (2) 24 hours prior to your newly scheduled departure for the first flight on your itinerary. If you cancel your booking after this time, you will not be entitled to any CFAR refund.
- If your purchased flight has been modified at your request after booking (including but not limited to a change in departure date as described above), and the exclusions described in Section 3 do not apply, you can still cancel your trip for any reason, but CFAR will apply only to the original amount of the purchased flight and will not take into account any changes to the total purchase cost as a result of your decision to change the origin, destination or date of travel.
- CFAR may not be offered on every flight. CheapOair reserves the right to deny the purchase of CFAR to any customer for any lawful reason.
- Except as otherwise explicitly provided in these CFAR Terms, CFAR is only valid for the booking for which CFAR was purchased, is not transferable and cannot be carried over to any future bookings.
5. Application of Certain Taxes.
Foreign government imposed value-added tax (VAT) may apply to the CFAR Fee, which will be shown once a specific international route is selected.
6. Not Insurance.
Subject to the restrictions and exclusions described above, CFAR allows airline tickets purchased on the CheapOair site to be canceled for any reason without incurring additional fees. CheapOair has agreed to make CFAR available to airline ticket customers to provide a more seamless and flexible experience. The CFAR Terms are not intended to constitute an offer to insure, do not constitute insurance or an insurance contract, and do not take the place of insurance obtained or obtainable by you such as travel insurance or insurance coverage which can be obtained via purchases made with a credit card.
7. Modification.
CheapOair may make changes or updates to these CFAR Terms at any time, at CheapOair’s discretion. CheapOair will provide notice of such changes by publishing an amended version of these CFAR Terms on the Site.
8. These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States of America and without regard to conflict of law principles or law. All right to trial by jury in any action, proceeding or counterclaim arising out of or in connection with these terms and conditions is irrevocably waived. Any case brought pursuant to these terms and conditions must be brought in a party’s individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative proceeding. No legal action may be brought by a customer against WK Travel, Inc. or its directors, officers, employees or agents unless commenced within six (6) months from the date of the alleged incident.
