Zambezi airlines was a private airline with its headquarters at Lusaka in Zambia. It first started operating in the year 2008. Its official base was Kenneth Kaunda International Airport. The main areas till where it extended its service were southern and western Africa. It had nine countries on its daily itenerary. The chief among them were Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Kenya, Malawi, South Africa and DR Congo. Due to serious safety scares, its license was suspended on 1 November 2011. Finally, the airline ceased operation in the year 2012.
