Among the oldest airlines in the world, KD Avia (KD) was founded in October 8, 1945 and was based in Kaliningrad, Russia. The airline, whose main hub was at Khrabrovo Airport in Kaliningrad, had scheduled flights in Russia, CIS and Europe. Starting operations in 1946, its international flights took off only in 2004. It underwent a makeover in 2005 and replaced its old aircrafts with new Boeing 737-300s.
With a fleet of 19 (+25 orders) which flew across Russia, Turkey, Egypt and Europe, it had carried million of passengers throughout their operational years. The sole objective of the airlines was to connect Russia and CIS countries to Europe . The airline ceased operations from September 8, 2009.
