Launched way back in 1938, Lithuanian Airlines / Flylal Airlines (TE) was the national airline of Lithuania and was regarded as one of the pioneers in the aviation world. With its base at Vilnius International Airport in Vilnius, it had flown passengers to both domestic and international destinations. With focus city in Palanga International Airport, its network spread across 13 destinations.
An airline which carried a frequent flyer program called Gintarines mylios (Amber Miles); it boasted a beautiful fleet of 13 aircrafts that flew to destinations like Austria, Germany, Netherlands, Russia and United Kingdom. During its operational years the airline successfully competed with Lufthansa and Scandinavian Airlines for a share of the pie in the aviation market. The airline ceased operations from Jan 17, 2009.
