SA is where I live but it's a great place to visit as well.

There's much to see and do in San Antonio, not just the Alamo. The people are friendly and there is much cultural diversity within the city. There are always local plays to attend and fine restaurants to enjoy (I highly recommend Guenther House in the King William District). The RiverWalk is a very relaxing place to be especially during the Christmas holidays. Absolutely Beautiful!

Boerne Texas and Tapatio

Stayed in the hill country near Boerne Texas, about 30 miles north of the San Antonio Airport. Boerne is an old German town with lots of antique stores and restaurants but with the small town flavor. You can walk the main street in an hour or so which would include many stops at the various shops. Make sure to stop in the Bear Moon Bakery for breakfast if you are there before 11 as they have a great buffet there. One of our favorite restaurants for dinner is the Cypress Grill. We prefer the booths by the bar as you can relax and watch the people pass on main street.
We stay at the Resort at Tapatio Springs which is under new management. It was bought by George Strait the country western singer and they are in the process of upgrading all the rooms and the country club. As we are golfers we enjoy the 27 holes of golf available there with some of the nicest view in the hill country.
