Aloha Shuts Down March 31, 2008
United Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines Make Concessions

Effective April 1, 2008, Aloha Airlines will discontinue all scheduled flights. On March 31, Aloha will operate its schedule with the exception of flights from Hawaii to the West Coast and flights from Orange County to Reno and Sacramento, and Oakland to Las Vegas.

United Airlines Concessions

United Airlines (UA) has announced that it will assist passengers who are affected by Aloha's cessation. United ticketed passengers (ticket number beginning 016), booked on an Aloha (AQ) operated flight will be rebooked on United or another carrier, for the same date-of-travel, at no additional charge (subject to availability). United will continue to accept Aloha ticketed passengers (ticket number beginning 327) scheduled to fly on an United operated flight and customers should check in as normal. United will also offer a discounted one-way fare through the end of April for passengers ticketed on, and scheduled to fly on, an Aloha flight.

Hawaiian Airlines Concessions

Hawaiian Airlines has added capacity on key routes to help meet the demand left by Aloha. Hawaiian will offer confirmed space inter-island seats at $49 through April 7, 2008. Hawaiian will also permit free standby, space available travel for some flights on March 31 and on all flights April 1-3, 2008. For Aloha ticketed travel on March 31, 2008, standby travel is permitted for Hawaii to U.S. mainland only. For Aloha ticketed travel April 1-3, 2008, standby travel is permitted for inter-island and U.S. mainland flights. Travelers are required to bring their Aloha Airlines paper ticket or electronic ticket confirmation to the airport. Hawaiian's standby concession applies only on the date of the original ticketed flight. Details can be found online with Hawaiian Airlines.

Ticket purchasers, who made payment by credit card for travel that does not take place and no refund is offered or no alternate travel is offered, should contact their credit card company to dispute the charge. Details on fair credit billing can be found online.

On March 21, 2008, Aloha Airlines filed and received U.S. Bankruptcy Court approval to continue operating under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. No details have been released regarding a possible status change. Additionally, no refund or claim procedures have been announced.
