Visitors to China, if arriving from an infected area, require a yellow fever vaccination certificate. Prevention against malaria is recommended throughout the low-lying areas. Although SARS outbreaks are over, live animal markets and places where contact with live poultry is possible should be avoided. All poultry and egg dishes should also be thoroughly cooked. Health insurance is recommended.
