Minneapolis is home to some wonderful museums that offer excellent exhibits reflecting the city’s rich historical and cultural heritage.
Minneapolis Institute of Arts: is a fine art museum and features an encyclopedia collection of approximately 80,000 objects spanning 5,000 years of world history. Its collection includes paintings, photographs, prints & drawings, textiles, architecture and decorative arts. There are collections of African art and art from Oceania and the Americas as well as a collection of Asian art.
Minnesota History Center: is a large museum and library, which serves as the headquarters for the Minnesota Historical Society. Interactive exhibits at the Minnesota History Center depict the history of the state from the perspectives of explorers and settlers. The museum exhibits feature large-scale objects, hands-on experiences and multimedia presentations.
Science Museum of Minnesota: is an American museum focused on topics in technology, natural history, physical science and mathematics education. The museum has exhibits on archaeology, technology and biology, as well as many hands-on exhibits for kids. The museum's 70,000 square feet of space includes a 10,000-square-foot temporary exhibit gallery and five permanent galleries.

Minneapolis has an overabundance of prominent attractions that appeal to all types of travelers.
Cedar Lake: is a lake on the west side of Minneapolis. It is part of the Grand Rounds Scenic Byway. The Cedar Lake Trail, on the north shore of the lake, serves as both a recreational trail and a link for non-motorized commuters to reach downtown Minneapolis. Cedar Lake is also popular for canoeing and swimming, with three official swimming beaches. The most notable being "Hidden Beach", which remains the most popular swimming and sun bathing area on Cedar Lake.
Mall of America: Located in the southern suburb of Bloomington, the futuristic superstructure is recognized as the largest enclosed shopping and entertainment complex in the country, welcoming over 42 million visitors each year. It’s also the fifth most visited attraction in the USA with world-class shopping, family entertainment, nightlife and numerous dining options.
Minnehaha Park: Overlooking the Mississippi River, it is one of Minneapolis oldest and most popular parks, located at the intersection of Hiawatha Avenue and Minnehaha Parkway. The 193-acre park features a 53-foot waterfall, limestone bluffs and river overlooks. The park contains oak, elm, silver maple, basswood, hackberry and cottonwood trees, as well as native and prairie woodland wild flowers.
