Museums:
The ‘City of Angels” is home to a wide assortment of museums in history, art, culture, new media and entertainment.
LPaul Getty Museum: is an art museum with two locations; one at the Getty Center and the other at the Getty Villa in Pacific Palisades. The museum’s goal is collecting, preserving, exhibiting and interpreting the highest quality works of art. You’ll find European paintings, drawings, sculpture, illuminated manuscripts, decorative arts, European and American photographs. The Getty is appreciated by a wide variety of audiences due to its broad range of exhibits and programming in visual arts.
Hammer Museum: The Hammer contains a small collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art. The museum holds over 7,500 works by French satirist, Honore Daumier; the largest collection outside of Paris. In recent years, the museum has become well known for its collection of contemporary art works on paper. The museum also boasts fine paintings by Rembrandt, Titian and Chardin.
Museum of Contemporary Art: is a contemporary art museum with three locations in the greater Los Angeles area. The museum's exhibits consist, primarily of American and European contemporary art, created in 1940. Founded in 1979, it is the only museum in Los Angeles devoted exclusively to contemporary art. The exhibits include masterpieces by classic contemporary artists and inspiring new works by emerging artists from Southern California and around the world.

Besides world class museums ‘The Entertainment Capital of World” is home to several other attractions well worth adding to a traveler’s itinerary of things to do.
Walt Disney Concert Hall: was designed by Frank Gehry-designed and opened on October 23, 2003. The concert hall seats 2,265 people and serves as home to the Los Angeles Philharmonic orchestra and the Los Angeles Master Chorale. The concert hall also houses celebrity chef, Joachim Splichal's landmark fine dining restaurant Patina. Both the architecture by Frank Gehry and the acoustics of the concert hall have won several awards for its uniqueness and superiority.
Griffith Park: is the second-largest city park in California. Visitors can attend concerts under the stars at the magnificent Greek Theatre, which was built to resemble a Greek amphitheater. Visitors can study the stars at the newly renovated Griffith Observatory and planetarium. The park houses the Los Angeles Zoo, the Museum of the American West and the famous Hollywood Sign.
Greystone Mansion: is a Tudor-style mansion in Beverly Hills, designed by Gordon Kaufmann and completed in 1928. In 1976 it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The house and grounds are often used in film and television due to its beauty, manicured grounds and Beverly Hills location. The mansion also hosts Catskills West, a theater arts and drama camp.
