Air Fiji Flights

Founded in 1967, Air Fiji (PC) had it’s headquarters in Nausori, Fiji. It mainly operated inter-island flights within the Fijian Island. It had its main base in Nausori International Airport, Suva. Air Fiji started operations on July 10, 1967 and had a fleet of 5 airplanes. With an employee strength of 229, it flew to 16 destinations including Cicia, Gau, Labasa, Rotuma and others.

Formerly known as Air Pacific, this airline changed its name to Fiji Air on March 29, 1971. However, it again changed its name to Air Fiji in February, 1995. Air Fiji was jointly owned by the government of Fiji (11%), Aviation Investments (55%) and shareholders (34%). It temporarily suspended operations for two weeks in 2008 before finally closing down on May 1, 2009.
