Cheap Hotels in Mexico City - Book Now & Save

We had an early plane and had to be in the airport by 4:00 am. Once we got past security, there were NO places to sit for a long, long way. I walk with a limp so it was not pleasant. At a couple of places that were closed, there were chairs but the security guards would NOT let us use them. We finally got to McDonalds and they graciously let us sit there even though we didn't buy anything. The hotel right there at the airport was also a disappointment all because of an alarm clock that was wired into the outlet and couldn't be removed without the maintenance folks. It could not be set for the correct time. The desk told us at 9:00 pm that they couldn't do anything about it. I didn't try to set the alarm, only the correct time. We had a 3:00 am wake-up call scheduled. At 12:10, the alarm went off. At 1:15, it went off again. At 1:30 my husband told me to call the desk and tell them to come get the clock. About 5 minutes later a fellow arrived with a screw driver and removed the clock. At 3:00 am, the desk called with out wake-up call. Not much sleep for a hotel room that cost us more than $150.!!! We will never stay there again or recommend it to anyone.

My final destination was Taxco. 3 hours SW of Mexico nestled up in the mountains. Taxco is worth the effort. I was there on a buying trip for jewelry and my husband accompanied me and had a little holiday. We stayed in a new boutique hotel called Pueblo Lindo which was absolutely delightful; it had a pool, fitness center with steam bath, a spa and a roof top restaurant. Pretty much all you could ask for. The staff was amazing and the owner’s very approachable. It is very central. Taxco is a great city for silver shopping but also offers many other things cultural. We have been there 3 times and still love it.
