The Corning Tower Observation Deck
Named for Erastus Corning, mayor of Albany for over 40 years, the Corning Tower is a skyscraper in downtown Albany, and the tallest skyscraper in New York State outside of Manhattan. It offers views of the Hudson River valley, Albany International Airport, the Adirondacks, the Catskills, the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, and even the Governor’s Mansion. A nonstop elevator to the 42nd floor reaches speeds of 16 MPH. The deck is open to the public for free Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Empire State Plaza Farmers Market
Open year round, the ESP Farmers Market offers fresh, delicious food to the capital city so you can enjoy a taste of the good life from local famers every season. From May through October, the market is held outdoors on Wednesdays and Fridays at the Empire State Plaza, and on Thursdays in Uptown Albany. During the winter months, it’s moved indoors to the Concourse, which is the main hallway in the ESP, and is open on Wednesdays only. All products are grown or made by the sellers themselves.
