South African Airways (SA) or SAA as it is commonly known, it is the largest airline and the flagship carrier of South Africa. It is headquartered in OR Tambo International Airport, Guateng. The airline was started in 1934 by the government of S.A but since '06 it has separated and functions as an independent company. SAA is a member of Star Alliance which opens it to a lot of destinations and codeshare agreements, it has also been awarded a four star rating by SkyTrax. It has a newer fleet than competition and a total of 55 aircrafts in service and a further 17 in delivery. South African Airways services over 37 routes in all the major countries of the world in Europe, Africa, Asia and Americas. The chief focus city of SAA is Cape Town.

South African Airlines offers online and mobile check-in to its clients, from 24 hours to 1 hour prior to the departure. Boarding passes can be printed or downloaded on to the phones at the convenience of the passengers, in turn avoiding long queues and hassles.
