On January 31, 2010, Northwest Airlines merger with Delta was completed and according to the official report, the last Northwest flight was NW2470 from Los Angeles to Las Vegas and the last Northwest Airline flight to land was Northwest Flight 248, a flight from Detroit to Amsterdam, landing at 5:33 am EST.
Founded in the year 1926, Northwest Airlines an airline based in Eagan, Minnesota. On April 14, 2008, Northwest Airlines announced its merger with Delta Airlines and on January 31, 2010 the airline merged with Delta Airlines, making it one of the world’s largest airlines.
Before the merger, Northwest Airlines offered flights to 254 domestic as well as international destinations including Anchorage, Los Angeles, Denver, Phoenix, Chicago, Boston, Las Vegas, Miami, New York City, Hong Kong, Seoul, Tokyo, Rome, Paris and London, just to name a few. Northwest Airlines also had a fleet over 308 aircrafts.
